[ he’s already run down a mental list of possible presents. the remaining yards give him time to tack on a few more for only himself to mull over. all in all, none of his guesses come close. as his steps slow and surprise has him stopping altogether, he can only register the slow-dawning thought that he should have anticipated this. well, not the specifics of a hoverbike wedged between branches ( because seriously, what the hell?? ), but the remarkable nature of it. keith is -- unique. and shiro means that in the kindest way possible. of course a gift from him would be far from conventional.

Just -- Keith. [ his voice breaks on exasperation but it’s alight and happy and so very amused as laughter weaves into that one, punctuated syllable. ] Why is it even up there?
